AI did not win the idea test, but revision helped
A study of research teams found no clear human-rated quality gain from working with AI rather than another person. Revision helped. An AI judge favored AI-assisted ideas without a matching edge in human ratings, so the two ways of scoring should not be treated as the same.

What the source reports
Researchers compared human-AI and human-human teams as they developed scientific ideas. The abstract reports no significant advantage for AI collaboration in human ratings of idea quality. Revisions did improve quality. One score came from AI, but people did not rate those ideas higher. This happened in one study, not in all research. An AI score is not proof people will like an idea more. The results about revision and AI scores came from the same study.
