Google puts numbers behind its health and science pitch

James Manyika's Google roundup lists health and science projects. It names AlphaGenome Atlas, WeatherNext 3, and the Planetary Prediction Engine. It says AI-assisted breast-cancer screening found 25% of cancers missed between regular screenings in a study of 175,000 women. It also reports tuberculosis X-ray screening at 40 locations in six nations and more than 1.15 million screenings for diabetic eye disease.
