An AI data tool keeps other questions in view
Yang and colleagues propose an interface that helps people move from a broad data question to smaller ones they can test. It also keeps other paths in view and shows which data would support each question. The paper illustrates a system and proposes a user study. It does not yet show better decisions in measured use.
What the source reports
Yang and coauthors propose a tool called Intent Graph. It helps people explore data by asking smaller questions. A user can start with a broad question, try one path, and still see the other paths. The interface shows which data might help test each question. This may help people check why they chose a chart. But the paper shows a design, not a proven gain in how well people decide. The authors propose a study of users. They do not yet report that this tool leads people to better answers.
