A visible reason is a place to check, not proof

A short reason and ranked source passages can help a person see where to check an AI decision. Anbalagan and colleagues report that 92% of 50 early participants found the evidence helpful. Readers still need to open the underlying source.

What the source reports

Anbalagan and colleagues propose a way to show why an AI tool made a choice. Their display pairs a short reason with source passages ranked by how useful they may be. The Beyond Prompting digest says the team tried it in three areas. In an early test with 50 people, 92% said the ranked evidence helped them understand and trust the choice. That response does not prove the choice was right. Nor does it prove that the cited passage supports every claim. The digest suggests opening a public source passage and checking one claim against it. That is advice, not a result measured in the study. A reason is useful when it points to evidence a person can read.
