The result is not just that AI systems make groups faster or slower. They can change what agreement looks like. In this description game, AI-led agreement became more abstract and less detailed, while humans first resisted AI phrasing and then gave in to group pressure.

Chen, Liu, Hu, and Li studied mixed human-AI groups in a description game. People and AI systems paired up at random and shared messages over repeated rounds. As the AI share changed, the groups showed three patterns: low AI shares helped human-led agreement, middle shares broke agreement, and high shares restored strong agreement while shifting it toward AI-led habits. The content changed too. Human-led agreement was more concrete and tied to shared real-world analogies. AI-led agreement was more abstract, less detailed, and more split into geometric parts. The design point is practical: the AI share and whether people know who is AI can shape group norms.
